Do you love being in the water but hate the fact that you can’t always have your pool open because of the cold weather? This is a common problem that some people have and depending on where you live it can be easy or somewhat difficult to keep your pool warm. Before I start telling you how easy it is to keep your pool warm I first way to tell you that it truly doesn’t matter where you live, you can always keep the water inside your pool warm if you know how.
What you need to understand is that your pool can be as warm as you want it to be, but how warm is that? If you want it to be like bath water then you will have to put in a little bit of work and money to make it that way but when it is all over, it will be perfect. All you have to do in order to keep your pool warm is to follow some of the steps I have outlined below:
How To Keep Your Pool Warm
Give It Sunlight – One of the very first things that everybody must do with their pool is give it a little bit of sunlight. If you have a swimming pool that is hidden behind trees and other sun blocking objects then your pool is always going to be cold. Just know that a little bit of sunlight can make a world of difference with the temperature of your pool.
Don’t Keep Adding Water – Something else you have to make sure you don’t do is add cold water all the time. A lot of people add cold water to their pool after almost every use simply because they see the water level getting lower, this will only cool off your pool and it does it very quickly. If your pools water level drops around 5 inches or more then I would add some water, before that I would just wait.
Use Solar Thermal Energy – If you have never heard of solar thermal energy than you are missing out. The nice part about solar thermal energy is that it uses solar energy (sun) and creates thermal energy (heat) and then heats your pool with it. The best part about solar thermal technology is that it doesn’t cost that much and it will pay off within 2 years.
Another great piece of technology that goes along with solar thermal energy is something called trigeneration, this is used as a byproduct for cooling and the nice thing about it is that you will never have a pool that is too hot or too cold for you.
