What Exactly Is Underfloor Heating

Do you have any idea what underfloor heating is? I know you are thinking this is a typo, but it is not, I really want to know whether or not you know what this is and what the benefits of this type of heating system is. The reason I ask this is because underfloor heating has been around for a very long time and most people don’t know about it. All underfloor heating does is it heats the flooring which then transmits the heat into the room above the floor.

Normally people think that underfloor heating is used to make tile easier to walk on since it won’t be that cold but that is not all that underfloor heating units do. Underfloor heating does a lot more than just heats the floor, it puts out enough heat that it can actually heat the entire room on its own.

The Advantages Of Underfloor Heating

Safe – One of the first things that you need to understand is that this type of heating system is very safe. Being that there is nothing hot that you can actually touch there won’t be any burns by you or a child. Think about it, how many times do you worry about a child touching your heating unit or the vents themselves? If you are like most people safety is the number one priority and that is why I wanted to give you this benefit first.

Cost Effective – Another thing that you will like is that this heating system is not that expensive. If you are worried about the cost of a heating unit then you have something to worry about because they can run upwards of $10,000 depending on the size of the unit and the complexity of the layout. Just know that this will save you money in the beginning and every month that you own it.

Better Air Quality – One of the final things that you should know is that you will get better air quality since the heating system will actually be under the floor. Something that most people don’t understand is that a clean heating unit can still be harmful to your body and lungs and that is why using something that doesn’t affect the air quality is very important. Being that this is under the floor you can be assured that the air quality doesn’t change due to the fact you have heating coils/tubes under your floor.

There are many benefits to underfloor heating and it is important that you understand all of these benefits and see how they can affect you. Something that I just want to mention is that you can easily connect this system to solar thermal technology if you want to, you don’t have to power it through an actual outlet like many people do. Something that you should know is that you can use Trigeneration along with underfloor heating.

What Everybody Should Know About Solar Thermal Energy

Do you know that much about solar thermal energy? Did you know that more and more people are switching to solar energy simply because of the money they can save by using it and how well it will benefit the environment and all of their surroundings? If you want to help make a difference then don’t be scared to start now, there is nothing to worry about. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know a lot about solar thermal energy because I am going to show you some things right now that will help you know why so many people are using it these days.

One of the first things that you need to know is that solar thermal energy turns solar energy into heat. This is a type of technology that many people have but they just don’t know the actual name of it. Most people refer to this as solar heat which is not the right term for the technology. Remember this because solar thermal energy and solar heat are very different.

Things To Understand Regarding Solar Thermal Energy

3 Types Of Collectors – Something that is very important to know is that there are 3 types of collectors; high, medium, and low. The low collectors are normally flat plates that are primarily used to heat a swimming pool. Medium solar thermal collectors are used to heat water and air for your home and these collectors are also flat. The third solar thermal collector is a bit different, it uses mirrors or lenses to collect sunlight which then it uses as general electric power.

Designs To Track Sun – Have you ever wondered what happens being that the sun moves all the time? What you need to understand is that there are different designs for all the different solar thermal collectors and on the high solar thermal collector there is a tracker that moves the mirrors or lenses around so that they are always in contact with the sun. This isn’t needed for low and medium collectors because they don’t need as much sun in order for them to keep working.

There is a lot of things that solar thermal energy can do for you and that is why I highly recommend using it. If you thought that a small solar panel on the top of your roof was enough then think again, you can actually power your entire house with a good sized system. My advice to you if you are thinking about helping to change the fate of the world is to do your part and get a solar thermal system installed in your home.

I would also highly recommend learning more about Trigeneration.

Tricks To Keep Your Pool Water Warm

Do you love being in the water but hate the fact that you can’t always have your pool open because of the cold weather? This is a common problem that some people have and depending on where you live it can be easy or somewhat difficult to keep your pool warm. Before I start telling you how easy it is to keep your pool warm I first way to tell you that it truly doesn’t matter where you live, you can always keep the water inside your pool warm if you know how.

What you need to understand is that your pool can be as warm as you want it to be, but how warm is that? If you want it to be like bath water then you will have to put in a little bit of work and money to make it that way but when it is all over, it will be perfect. All you have to do in order to keep your pool warm is to follow some of the steps I have outlined below:

How To Keep Your Pool Warm

Give It Sunlight – One of the very first things that everybody must do with their pool is give it a little bit of sunlight. If you have a swimming pool that is hidden behind trees and other sun blocking objects then your pool is always going to be cold. Just know that a little bit of sunlight can make a world of difference with the temperature of your pool.

Don’t Keep Adding Water – Something else you have to make sure you don’t do is add cold water all the time. A lot of people add cold water to their pool after almost every use simply because they see the water level getting lower, this will only cool off your pool and it does it very quickly. If your pools water level drops around 5 inches or more then I would add some water, before that I would just wait.

Use Solar Thermal Energy – If you have never heard of solar thermal energy than you are missing out. The nice part about solar thermal energy is that it uses solar energy (sun) and creates thermal energy (heat) and then heats your pool with it. The best part about solar thermal technology is that it doesn’t cost that much and it will pay off within 2 years.

Another great piece of technology that goes along with solar thermal energy is something called trigeneration, this is used as a byproduct for cooling and the nice thing about it is that you will never have a pool that is too hot or too cold for you.
